About Money Transfer Advisor
Who We Are
Money Transfer Advisor (MTA) is an independent comparison platform that helps people find the best international money transfer rates. We compare 20 providers across more than 1,600 corridors so that anyone sending money across borders can make a fully informed decision before they transfer.
We are not owned by any money transfer provider. We are not a bank, a financial institution, or a licensed money transfer operator. We are a research and comparison platform — nothing more.
Why We Built This
Provider rankings in this market were not scientific. MTA's research team has monitored international remittance corridors since 2021 — analysts with direct financial market experience dating to 2011. What they found was consistent: provider rankings across the industry were neither transparent nor methodological.
Rankings were qualitative, unverifiable, and in many cases shaped by affiliate relationships or commercial agreements between comparison platforms and the providers they ranked. A higher commission produced a higher ranking. Users had no way to know.
The MTA Score was built to solve this — a published, rules-based framework where every score is traceable to a criterion and no commercial relationship influences any number.
By The Numbers
Our Research Team
Our data is compiled by a dedicated team of remittance market analysts, foreign exchange specialists, and consumer finance researchers. The team has continuously monitored GCC-to-South-Asia, Europe-to-South-Asia, and North America-to-Southeast-Asia corridors, tracking fee structures, FX spreads, delivery speeds, and regulatory changes across 1,600+ transfer routes. All provider data is verified directly on provider websites using standardised test conditions. No provider pays for placement, ranking, or editorial coverage.
Our Independence
Every ranking and score on this site is produced by our proprietary MTA Score methodology — an 11-criteria framework built on publicly verifiable data. No provider can pay to improve their score, move up a ranking table, or change our editorial assessments.
Our editorial team evaluates providers on transfer fees, exchange rate fairness, pricing transparency, trust and safety, speed, delivery methods, user experience, destination coverage, customer support, transfer limits, and rate consistency. Each criterion is scored independently and weighted according to what matters most to remittance senders.
How We Make Money
MTA earns revenue through affiliate referral fees. When you click through to a provider and complete a transfer, we may receive a commission from that provider. This commission is paid by the provider — it does not increase the cost to you in any way.
This commercial relationship never affects our rankings. Providers are ranked purely by their MTA Score. A provider that does not have an affiliate agreement with us appears in our rankings in the same position they would hold if they did.
Our Data
Exchange rate data is sourced from live APIs and updated hourly. Fee information is drawn from official provider documentation and verified against live quotes. Provider ratings (Trustpilot, app stores) are pulled from independent third-party platforms. MTA Scores are reviewed quarterly and updated whenever a provider makes a material change to their pricing, product, or regulatory status.
Every data point on MTA carries a confidence label: Live verified, Provider-reported, Estimated, or Historical average — so you always know how fresh the information is.
