How MTA Tracks 1,600+ Transfer Routes
What We Track & How
MTA monitors over 1,600 international money transfer routes by tracking provider fees, FX spreads, delivery speeds, and payout availability on a continuous basis. Every corridor is benchmarked against mid-market exchange rates to measure the true cost of each transfer — not just the advertised fee. Data is collected across all major providers operating on each route and updated on a rolling basis to reflect current market conditions. Where live data is available, rates and money transfer fees are pulled directly from provider sources and timestamped so you always know how recent the information is.
How We Score & Rank
Each provider active on a route is evaluated using the MTA Score — a standardized 11-criterion scoring framework covering transfer fees, exchange rate fairness, pricing transparency, trust and safety, transfer speed, delivery methods, user experience, destination coverage, customer support, and transfer limits. Scores are calculated independently and are never influenced by commercial partnerships, paid placement, or affiliate relationships. Every provider is assessed against the same criteria using the same methodology, so rankings reflect analytical output only — not who pays the most.
Why Corridor Intelligence Matters
Remittance pricing is not static. Money transfer fees and exchange rates shift daily, and the cheaper money transfer provider on one corridor may not be the cheapest on another route. A provider with the lowest fee may apply a wide FX spread that costs you more in total. MTA exists to give senders a reliable, unbiased reference point before every international money transfer — so you compare on real verified data, not marketing claims. Every corridor page on this site is built on the same monitoring infrastructure, reviewed regularly, and linked to a publicly available methodology so you can verify how every number is produced.
